We didn’t let traveling with a toddler hinder our first ever visit to Maui. We like adventure, local restaurants, and hidden gems and that’s exactly what we got!
Day 2 of our 2 weeks in Maui:
-Had an amazing unique local breakfast at a fun food joint.
-Visited 2 farmers markets
-Visited a beach in Kihei
-Tried the best shave ice on Maui
-Went to a bakery to grab some yummies
-Napped at the condo
-Visited a beach in Paia
-Explored the grounds at Mama’s Fish House and watched the sunset
-Had a VERY local and authentic Hawaiian dinner
Let me know in the comments if you would like me to go into detail on how we survived 15 hours of non-stop travel to Maui WITHOUT one single toddler meltdown! He was a serious trooper but we came PREPARED! Zero crying, zero screen time (no iPad, phone, etc), and minimal packing (no carseat, stroller, or diaper bag).
I am also thinking about writing a blog with our detailed 14 day itinerary… (we saw 50+ sites and ate at 20+ eating establishments all while maintaining a daily nap and 9 or more hours of sleep per night)… and like I said, not only did we SURVIVE it with a toddler but had the most amazing vacation of our lives ON A BUDGET. I did months of research and found hardly any info on what was/was not doable/appropriate/enjoyable for families who are bringing a toddler. Would our experience be useful for any travelers out there?
