Maui: Hiking Poli Poli State Park

By August 23, 2018 No Comments

I recently had the good fortune to go to Maui to teach a steel bending workshop for a friend and some of his students. We bent nails, rebar, tore decks of cards, lifted stones, and arm wrestled. It was also the First Annual Maui Grip Games.

During my stay I got to spend some quality time in nature. This is Poli Poli State Park, home to a baby redwood forest. It is upwards of 10,000 feet above sea level. The clouds drop down through the trees, and it feels like it extends forever. Absolutely surreal.
