ABOUT US: We’re traveling full time, living on our own terms and showing you the up-close-and-personal details of us figuring it out along the way. Sometimes it’s about navigating big, life-altering decisions. Sometimes it’s about navigating the seemingly lawless free-for-all that is driving in Hanoi. It’s moments of triumph and moments of panic.

The good, the bad, the ugly – and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.” Just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you – the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem. We believe the world’s a more interesting place when people reject convention in favor of what they actually care about. This is us putting that idea to the test – one budget spreadsheet, RV renovation and mountain-peak drone video at a time.

Planning a tip to Maui? Here's Episode 1 that includes all travel restrictions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QRBpOkLRkM

  • We swam with manta’s in the Cayman Islands it was awesome best experience of our lives!!!!’ Did it twice on two separate trips!!

  • Bruce Rogers says:

At about 5:00 you seemed to refer to the island to the East of you as "the big island of Kauai" . Oops. Kauai is to the West and you were looking at "the big island of Hawaii".

  • Did you learn about the silver swords? They are some of the coolest plants on the planet. I believe that they only bloom once every 50 years? I'd have to look it up again but I do know that Haleakala is the only place on earth that they grow. So cool!

  • G Oxsha says:

Yall did all this in one day? Enjoy the energy when your young I guess. Great video one again.👍👍

  • I love the instances when you guys visit places that I've been because it's so neat to see "alternate" expereinces of places I have also experienced IRL…. if that makes any kind of sense lol
When I went to the top of Haleakala I was NOT prepared for the cold haha I wore sandals, capris and a flannel over a tshirt haha but I missed sunrise despite my best attemps (even with my best intentions I will probably always be a night owl lol) so I went up the mountain at like 8am still cold but with the sun it was def not as cold. BUT I did catch the Ranger Talk which was awesome. Didn't even know about the audio tour thing! That's so cool!

Asking people for persmission to film them is so hard for me -and that's just inside the US. I can't imagine how much harder it would be in other places. If I already feel comfortable with a person then I'll just say oh are you comfortable being on camera before I start filming, but I'm still working on trying to ask that of people I just met lol

  • Jay K says:

Guys, Hawaiian people are not some caged animals you take pictures or videos of when you visit Hawaii. You can respect their culture and customs by treating them like human beings and not randomly capture them on film to brag about your trip. Ask yourself this question. Would i film radom strangers on the street in Florida while visiting Florida? Enjoy the sights, the weather, the beaches, and respect the inhabitants.

  • Susan M says:

I want to ride a massive zipline from the top of Mount Haleakala down to the water.

  • MT Mayhem says:

Well guys this video explains why Ozzy said " this is my Hawaii clothes "while he was wearing a wool jacket on The Black Sabbath cartoon…Check the cartoon out and get a laugh…Good vid guys !!!!

  • Go to the Big Island to see manta rays

  • Go Away says:

Sickens me to watch this video. Hawaii is not prepared for post covid tourism in so many ways but yet you insist. Yick

  • No desire to visit Hawaii, too expensive

  • I remember seeing somewhere online that there was a night dive with mantas somewhere in Hawaii, but i would be disappointed too if i purchased a manta dive in bali and turns out it isn't even manta season lol. So cool you got to hear the whales though! I've never seen one, nor heard one on a dive yet! 🙌🏻

  • Emelia Hurd says:

I've been to maui a couple times as a kid. I was really happy to see some places I remember from those trips in your video! I'm sorry for your bad experience with the "manta" tour lol did you guys ask for your money back?

  • I enjoyed soooooo much this video! Going to Maui in June for vacation/real estate hunting with my fiancé and this gave us a better idea on what to expect. You guys are so fun! Greetings from Lake Nona xoxo

  • I'm so sorry to hear about the failed excursion! Kona is extremely well known for night diving/snorkeling with Manta Rays – hoping you get the chance to go visit and do it there!

  • Rob Crilley says:

Been on 3 separate 7-10 day trips on Maui, Kauai, and Big Island. From what I understand (and you may very well know this by now), the best place in Hawaii to swim with mantas is on the west coast of the Big Island…specifically Kailua-Kona. I think they are more active at night, so they do night tours (with lighting). We didn't do it while we were there a few years back, but it's on our return list. Maui was great, but personally I preferred Big Island overall for it's diversity (all the islands are diverse, but Big Island has the added allure of active volcanoes). The biggest Big Island drawback are the vast distances (although that dilutes the crowds), and the relatively small number of beaches.

  • as long as you don't understand what you're seeing when you google fukushima plume.

  • Jon Harley says:

When Americans see a whale lift its tale out the water… AH MA GAAAAAAAAAAAAAD WOOOOOO WOOO.. Christ lol does my head in

  • Wonderful video and when I heard the voice from Gypsy Guide it brought back my memories from using this guide for our trip through Yellowstone and Banff.

  • I live in Hawaii and travel the world too! You'd be surprised how willing people (locals) would be getting interviewed! I love to ask locals questions everywhere we travel 🙂

  • The Maldives has PLENTY of ocean life and manta rays 🙂

  • smilelots317 says:

Yea, I live on Maui and worked on a whale watching/snorkeling boat for 2 years and have only seen mantas a few times…definitely a treat when seen, but should absolutely not be advertised in Maui. Other comments on here are absolutely right about seeing them on big island….guarantee! Glad you guys enjoyed Maui, she’s a special one! Aloha!

  • Why was the video blurred out in certain spots towards the end

  • Hitman808 says:
